Yet that’s exactly what happened, and what started as a moment of disgust quickly turned into an unexpected mystery that raised far more questions than it answered.
A Normal Shopping Trip, an Abnormal Discovery
It began with an ordinary grocery run. I grabbed a pack of sausages — a brand I’d bought many times — headed home, and started preparing dinner. Everything looked normal until I sliced into one of them and felt the knife hit something solid.
Expecting maybe a bit of gristle, I peeled back the casing… and froze.
There, embedded in the sausage meat, was a USB flash drive.
At first, I was horrified. How could this slip past quality control? Was it dangerous? Was someone playing a prank? A thousand thoughts flooded my mind.
But curiosity won.
I cleaned the outer casing, plugged the drive into an old laptop (definitely not my main one), and waited.
