Make rich, creamy condensed milk at home with just two main ingredients—simple, affordable, and just like the store-bought version.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups water (360 ml)
2 cups sugar (380 g)
2 cups powdered milk (200 g)
Note: Standard measuring cup = 240 ml. This recipe yields about 800 g of condensed milk. Halve the ingredients for a smaller batch.
Method
Method
In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Stir well.
Heat over high heat until it comes to a boil.
Boil for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
Pour the hot mixture into a blender. Add powdered milk and blend for 3 minutes until smooth.
Transfer to a container and allow to cool completely.
Refrigerate for a few hours to thicken to the classic condensed milk consistency.
Bonus Tip
A little foam after refrigeration is normal. You can remove it with a spoon, but it doesn’t affect taste or texture.
For a single can’s worth, simply use half the ingredients.
This homemade condensed milk is perfect for desserts, coffee, or any recipe calling for the sweet, creamy goodness of condensed milk.
